We don’t want to brag here but we knew Frankie and his pizza before it was cool. Did you know he served pizza at our wedding back in 2017? (Sorry, we must have dropped our mike here somewhere.)
Anyway, Frankie has been a steady part of the Prague pizza circuit for years now, first doing pop-ups and delivery from his home (how ahead of his time was he, honestly?) until he opened his own small pizza shop, pinning one of the first flags of gentrification in the Nusle district, just meters away from another Italian making big rounds on the Prague food scene, Marco from Mozarellart. (And yes, Frankie does use his mozzarella.)
We could get nerdy about pizza, and especially pizza Napoletana, but you’ve heard it all before, so we used this opportunity to ask about Frankie. Is his name really Frankie? When did he move in? Does he like Prague and is he planning to stay? What is the one thing he misses from Italy? And speaking of Italy, does he hang out with other Italians in town? Or has a favorite pizza place other than his own? Is there a style of pizza he does not enjoy? And what is the most common misconception about pizza in Prague?
Do you want to know the answer? You’ll have to find out: this one is fun and sweet, just like Francesco, oh, we mean Frankie.
