Eating Alone Together XIX - the Last Supper with Alcron hotel's La Rotonde

Our Eating Alone Together series of dinners have come to an end. It was good while it lasted, but it’s time to move on to other projects. [Sob. We’ll keep you posted.]

We want to thank everyone who’s ever bought a ticket and joined us in supporting local restaurants we love: we had loads of great food from independent chefs and kitchens, and loads of fun chatting online after the dinners. In total, this is the 19th dinner - and the last - dinner we are serving. We’ve served well over 500 dinners and brought in about CZK 500 thousand in revenue to Prague’s restaurants we love and care about. Thank you.

But the question is: who will serve our last supper? We wanted to leave on top, so here we go:

LAST EATING ALONE TOGETHER DINNER WITH THE ALCRON HOTEL

The last #EAT dinner will be served by the Alcron hotel, or - to be precise - its new executive chef, Lukáš Hlaváček (listen to our Czech podcast episode with him here), who just came back from abroad after a long time spent at London’s iconic The Ledbury (2 Michelin stars) and in California’s Meadowood (3 Michelin stars). Lukáš came back and immediately took over the kitchens of the Alcron where he used to work under Roman Paulus when the eponymous restaurant received a Michelin star as the second restaurant in Prague to achieve that.

And this Saturday, 10 April, Lukáš will be presenting a new inspiring menu, designed primarily for La Rotonde, which will hopefully open soon and which hasn’t yet opened with Lukáš as the executive chef. Therefore, this is a bit of a preview to showcase where the Alcron hotel and its restaurants will be heading under Lukáš’s helm.

Saturday’s menu is based on the planned spring menu with touches that will be unique to Saturday - the main will be bigger, the desserts have specific finishes, and the price is strongly reduced so that everyone has a chance to see what a young gun on Prague’s fine dining scene plans for us and the Alcron hotel.

The price of course includes delivery within Prague by Liftago, plus all our digital perks as per usual - a playlist, our Prague updates and maybe a surprise. The menu looks amazing, and this time it will arrive done and finished and will not require any work on your part. Check it out!

  1. Daikon salad with marinated halibut and dashi

  2. Beef short rib with broccoli, smoked marrow, crispy potato, cabbage

  3. Rhubarb tart, tonka, thyme

  4. Donuts dusted in fig leaf sugar

All this by a chef who survived over a year at the iconic The Ledbury (which is a miracle in itself - most chefs there quit days later given the infamous pace and workload in the restaurant) and then cooked for another year in a coveted 3-Michelin star Californian restaurant.
