So, you are in Prague for this weekend (19 through 22 April) and want it to be a little different than just a touristy trip? Here are three things to do this weekend that you probably wouldn’t normally do. Pick one (or every) thing off the list and add something local to your weekend.
Fri April 20 – Sat April 21; selected bars through the Czech Republic
During these two days selected bars through the Czech Republic will serve special drinks. CZK 20 from the price of each drink will be donated to the “Kapka Naděje” Foundation – a foundation supporting children suffering affected by the malfunction of haematopoiesis. With many great Prague’s bars participating, you have a perfect excuse to treat yourself to some great cocktail specials and have some fun. We would especially recommend checking out the following Prague’s top bars: Bugsy’s, La Casa de la Havana vieja, Bar and Books, Hemingway Bar or Black Angel’s.
Sat April 21, restaurant Jezerka
Of course, we have some event for beer fans, too. Are you an unabashed fan of the roasted piglet? Now picture it paired with great lagers from microbreweries. Is there a better festival, then, than one that celebrates both? Pivní rozmanitost flies in beers from more than five different breweries that you can enjoy along with some mouth watering roasts and live band performances.
Czech Republic Barista Competition 2012
Thu April 19 – Sun April 22, Arkády Pankác, Prague
Last but not least, we have some fun for (not only) teetotalers. This weekend, Prague is hosting the national Barista competition where the best baristas from around the country are competing for the opportunity to represent the Czech Republic at the World Barista Championship in Vienna, Austria. The categories include Barista of the Year, Coffee in Good Spirits (showcases coffee, spirits and other exceptional ingredients in a competition format), Latte Art and Cup Tasting (competition in degustation). Even though this even is taking place in a shopping mall, we can’t wait to see the best Czech baristas preparing their flavorful drinks!
