THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR JOINING US FOR DINNER!
Hi there!
Thank you again so much for accepting our invitation for a social dinner at a time of social distancing. Also, thank you for supporting Prague’s great restaurants - they really need it.
We hope you will like the dinner and stay in touch for the next episode of what we hope will be a short series. We are already in talks with a few great restaurants.
But today is about the man, the legend, Paul Day. To kill time before your dinner arrives, please feel free to read our interview with Paul we did a few years ago. Great stuff. Thank you!
The Instructions
The dinner includes some do-it-yourself elements, but this time it’s really just about the drinks. So please have ice ready, you will need it. The menu shows one drink only, but there will be a bittersweet surprise included from us.
The SKYPE session
We wanted this dinner to be social. We tried Zoom sessions the last time but that proved a bit confusing and having a session each hour was overkill. So we have decided to switch to good ole’ Skype and their video chat. You have Skype, right?
We suggest we meet there at 8pm to have a cheer and say hi!

The playlists
We have prepared two playlists for this occasion. Paul has sent a handwritten note with his Northern Soul-inspired playlist, so you can imagine he is pretty serious about this stuff. We have added our own playlist, inspired simply by Paul. Hope you enjoy them!

Prague Foodie Map
This dinner comes with a digital copy of our Prague Foodie Map. Sure, some of the restaurants may be inaccessible at the moment, but we just wanted you to see what the guests of our food tours are getting in hard copy at the end of the tour. And since this guide will be up for an update once we can again revisit restaurants, you are also getting a voucher for the next, update version of the guide when it is finally finished. No need for a voucher. We’ll just send you the links in an email once it’s done.

Taste of Prague’s food digest
And because we thought you needed a bit more stuff from food world, here’s a small digest of our recent reading and viewing online for your enjoyment:
David Chang’s kitchen essentials: Dave Chang wrote on Instagram recently that he hates “white people’s kitchens”: dull knives, no seasonings etc. So this is what the chef and owner of the Momofuku empire thinks are the kitchen essentials.
Just a Dash: Now, seriously. If you have not seen Matty Matheson’s cooking show yet, what have you been doing with your life? Save an hour or two because once you’re hooked, you’ll binge-watch the whole series.
Tom Colicchio on current situation in restaurants: The owner of Manhattan-based Craft and the host of Top Chef on how hard the crisis hit restaurants in the US.
Food and the climate. An excellent basic overview by the NYT. Spoiler: you’ll feel guilty.
How to stop hating your least favorite food. Reminds us how we hated oysters… but kept ordering oysters. Until one day, we finally got good ones (in this place, btw), and now we actually love oysters. True story.
Tahini-tella recipe. You know how many times we link to Goop? Never. Ever. Except this recipe by Jessica Koslow, the chef/owner of LA’s Sqrl, for this super-easy Tahini-tella. So easy. So delicious. (Feel free to scale down the sugar a bit.)
French waiter fired for rude behavior sues restaurant for cultural discrimination. Old one, but still a good one.
Keep in touch!
Thank you again for joining us and for supporting your local food businesses! Please share if you liked the dinner, and let us know if there was anything that you think needs improvement. Despite our best efforts, we do kinda learn on the job, so we will really appreciate your input.
Stay tuned for the next dinners!
We do have a nice line-up in the pipeline for the next weekend. Don’t want to give anything away, but it looks like the power trio of Big Smokers for Friday, drinks from Parlour for Saturday, and Sunday brunch with Etapa! Fingers crossed! Please stay tuned for updates.
Bye-bye!
Have a great day, thank you again, stay healthy and sane and please keep in touch!
All the best,
Jan and Zuzi and the entire Taste of Prague team
and Paul and his team over at Sansho and the Real Meat Society
