Hi there!
Thank you again so much for accepting our invitation for a social dinner at a time of social distancing. Also, thank you for supporting Prague’s great restaurants - they really need it.
We hope you will like the brunch and stay in touch for the next episode of what we hope will be a short series. We are already in talks with a few great restaurants.
But today is about the wonders of the burger, about Dish and their special burgers. We hereby declare the grilling season open! May the fire and the Green Egg be with you.
The Instructions
The burger come as an assembly kits. You gotta assemble them. Here’s the videos for download. Also, please check out Dish’s Instagram tomorrow for additional information. And finally, there will be written instructions (for fries etc.) in the box when it is delivered to you. Good luck!
The Contest
If your burger ends up being awesome, you can win a voucher to Dish for it. Just put a picture of your burger on Instagram, tag @tasteofprague and @dishcz and use the #dishvkarantene hashtag. The winner will be announced shortly. (And yes, were are open to bribery.)
The SKYPE session
These events include the opportunity to meet up and say hi to each other, chat about the food, your life in quarantine and so on. We will be definitely there, and it’s only up to you whether you’d like to join. But these chats have always been super fun. We suggest we meet on Skype at 6:30pm, after we’ve all had the food and a chance to digest it.

Our Prague Foodie Map is a guide to all good things in Prague. This is normally given to all the guests of our food tours when they join us. We know visiting many of the places listed is not possible at the moment, but at least one can dream, and you can see how we see Prague and its food. And maybe it will come in handy when things reopen in June.

And because we thought you needed a bit more stuff from food world, here’s a small digest of our recent reading and viewing online for your enjoyment. This time with a bit of a burger & fries theme:
Matty Matheson’s Patty. Some people may call our obsession with the Just a Dash series unhealthy. We don’t see what the problem is. Just watch it. Matty is a wholesome young individual with a great burger recipe.
You’re among friends, so let’s all admit it. We all love McDonald’s fries. There’s a reason why. It’s called science. For a real serious breakdown of what makes those fries so friggin’ good, head over to Serious Eats.
What happens when Burger King and Microsoft join forces in Japan? All hell breaks loose. (Not sure whether we’d rather eat the burger, or use Windows 7. Is having your arm chopped off an option here?)
And while we’re at it, this is a Whopper configured with 1050 bacon strips on it. Guess where? Japan. That’s one of the reasons why we love it there so much. They’re just crazy. (True story: we were supposed to be in Japan right now on a 6-week trip, which had to be cancelled because.. well… you know.)
And this is a great rundown of what goes into one of the most expensive burgers anywhere (now priced at USD 33 without tax), the Black Label by NYC’s Minetta Tavern. (We had the burger and what made all the difference to us was… the custom bun by Balthazar Bakery.)

Ještě jednou moc děkujeme, že jste přijali naše pozvání ke společnému stolu v době, kdy ke společnému stolu ve skutečnosti usednout nemůžeme. Děkujeme také za podporu pražské gastronomie v době, která pro ni opravdu není lehká.
Pevně doufáme, že vám dnes bude chutnat a že se uvidíme u dalších akcí, na kterých už pilně pracujeme. Plánů máme hodně, tak snad vyjdou!

Naše akce by měly být “společenské”, takže zahrnují možnost se vidět, připít si a trochu si poklábosit o jídle, životě v karanténě, počasí atd. My tam budeme určitě, ale účast není povinná. Je to na vás! Ale zatím to byla vždy zábava. Pokud tedy budete chtít, navrhujeme potkat se na Skypu v 18:30 - to už bychom měli být všichni po jídle a relaxovat.

Prague foodie map
Prague Foodie Map je náš nejen gastornomický průvodce Prahou, který běžně dáváme všem hostům našich prohlídek. Jsme si vědomi toho, že většinu míst v tuto chvíli nelze navštívit, tak doufáme, že vám pomůže se alespoň trochu zasnít. A ukáže vám, jak prezentujeme Prahu našim hostům. A třeba přijde vhod, až se podniky v červnu zase snad úspěšně otevřou.

A jelikož čas nikdy neplyne pomaleji, než když se čeká na jídlo a pití, připravili jsme si pro vis dale vydání našeho občasníku. Co právě čteme a na co se díváme na internetu, tentokrát se zaměřením na burgery a hranolky.
Matty Matheson’s Patty. Že se na videa ze série Just a Dash díváme pořád dokola? No a co? Co je vám do toho? Máte nějakej problém nebo co? No tak se na něj podívejte! Matty je miláček a burgery taky umí.
Proč si to rovnou nepřiznat: hranolky z Mekáče jsou prostě nejlepoší. A není to jenom náhoda. Je za tím věda. Serious Eats má podrobný popis všechny postupů a chemických reakcí, které za tu nádheru můžou.
Co se stane když Burger King spojí v Japonsku síly s Microsoftem? To raději ani nechtějte vidět. (Nevíme, jestli bychom si raději dali ten burger, nebo nainstalovali zpátky Windows 7. Sofiina volba, fakt.)
A když už jsme u toho, tady se mrkněte na Whopper obložený 1050 kousky slaniny. Hádejte, kde je k mání? V Japonsku. Proto to tam taky tak milujeme. Japonci jsou absolutní blázni, kteří dokážou jakoukoli věc dotáhnout do absurdních rozměrů. (Bohužel jsme tam teď měli být na 6-týdenní dovolené, která se zrušila kvůli… no však víte.)
A tady je skvělý přehled veškeré té práce a péče, která stojí za jedním z nejdražších burgerů na světě (nyní za 33 dolarů bez daně), burgerem Black Label v restauraci Minetta Tavern v New Yorku. (My ho měli a co na něm bylo skvělé byla… ta bulka z pekařství Balthazar.)
